Free GDPR Awareness Events: More Dates Added to Meet Dealer Demand
28th March 2018
Dragon2000 are pleased to announce they will be holding further free GDPR Awareness events for their dealer management system and automotive website customers, after all places for their March events were quickly snapped up.
Over one hundred dealers have attended so far, and the events have proved so popular that due to the high number of registrations for places, more dates are now being scheduled during April to accommodate dealers who are keen to attend.
The sessions are led by senior members of the Dragon2000 management team, who explain the key points of the regulations for motor dealers, encouraging questions and open discussion throughout. There is also a demonstration of new features within the DragonDMS that have been designed to help dealers meet their GDPR obligations going forward.
Dragon2000’s Managing Director, Mark Cooper said “It has been interesting to see dealers’ take on GDPR at the beginning of the session and how, by the end, they realise that this is a sea change in the way they collect, use and store their customers’ personal data.
“Dealers need to be aware that using software, website or hosting companies will not relieve them of their GDPR obligations. However, we have taken the unique step at Dragon2000 of hosting these free events so we can explain and discuss what the regulations mean in terms relevant to dealers and garages, to make it easier for them to understand and comply.”
Dragon2000 customers are now being invited to register their interest to attend one of the April events, which will take place at their Northamptonshire base. The feedback from car dealers and garages who have attended the events so far has also been excellent.
General Manager of Stoke-on-Trent based Cara Motorhomes, John Burton, gave his review after attending an event in March: “I’ve attended three events now around GDPR, and by far what Dragon2000 put together was the most useful. I just wanted to say thanks, as it has given me a lot of clarity around what I need to do before implementation day.”
The General Data Protection Regulations become enforceable on May 25th 2018.
