Free SSL Certification for Dragon2000 Websites to help Google rankings
24th August 2017
Over the past year much has been made in website circles of how Google is on a mission to warn its Chrome browser users about websites without SSL certificates not being secure, and on top of that, soon websites without one may well plummet down the google rankings!
Dragon2000 Car Dealer Website customers needn’t worry though, as we are rolling out FREE SSL certificates to all our sites as standard.
Websites with an SSL certificate have an encrypted connection with the visitor’s browser, a padlock symbol is displayed, and the address bar will show “https” in front of the website address. Without one, the website address will start with “http” instead, and the lack of “s” makes the browser see the site as not secure, leaving information sent along it such as credit card details and personal information, potentially at risk of being intercepted and viewed or modified.
Going forward, in Google searches, SSL certificated websites will be favoured above those without them, so car dealers’ website rankings could well suffer if staying with plain old http.
With ransomware making big headlines recently, if visitors are warned your site is not secure – with Google’s eventual plan to show a red warning triangle – there is a good chance they will leave your site, and this could result in you losing online enquiries.
Your website should be secure, and easy to use by your visitors to help increase your online enquiries.
That’s why all of the car dealer websites we build are mobile responsive, to display properly on visitors mobile phones and tablets, and now include SSL certificates – with both features being standard and at no extra charge to our customers.
