Keep Calm and Carry On

Whichever side of the Brexit argument you were on, the media coverage of our politicians turning themselves inside out hardly instils confidence in the prospects for business.

So, we thought we would take a look at the used car market as seen by some of the users of our Dealer Management System. Sadly for the media, all we could find was GOOD NEWS!

Comparing the last twelve months with the previous year, across a sample of car dealers we found a 4383 increase in cars sold – from 18899 units to 23282. That’s a 23% increase over the same period last year. Every single one of the dealers in our sample recorded an increase in cars invoiced through DragonDMS 2016.

Ah, we hear you say: that was before the Brexit vote. Well, again, we looked at activity since the result was announced and, compared to last year, units sold are ahead of 2015 on every single day of June. Predictably the 30th June featured the most invoices recorded all month but again comfortably ahead of last year.

Hopefully all of the current madness will soon subside but for now, at least, we can see no reason to jump from the nearest high building.
